New ish

Movado - Gangsta For Life
Jamaican hip hop artist mixes dancehall beats with electronic undertones.

Mos Def - Quiet Dog
Rap's most respected outlier returns for his fifth and arguably best album (after Black on Both Sides that is).

Regina Spector - Eet
Her sophomore record, after the widely successful debut single "fidelity" she returns to the indie scene with a more melancholy sound.

BLK JKS - Lakeside
Music's newest weirdos, combine rock, soul, reggae, and just noise, into something strange and wonderful.

Glasvegas - Geraldine
Wonderful, epic, music that seems to almost resonate above the crowd.

Jesse Y Joy - Ya No Quiero
Ok not that new, it came out last summer, but its new enough!!! This sibling duo from Mexico make some pretty good pop rock also check out Volvere.

Lyrics Born - Callin' Out
Hip Hop from another generation, it almost feels like "Fight The Power" version 2.0

Jack's Mannequin - Swim
One of my favorite piano rock bands (besides Spoon), their songs may not be as clean and cool as Spoon's sound but they are really driving in two different lanes in the opposite directions. Jacks' Mannequin is always looking for a bigger more magnificent sound, its all about building the music up to the climax when it explodes...Swim is like that. Also check out La La Lie and The Mixed Tape.

  1. There's a lot of bands here that you said you liked that I've never heard of, and some that I have and like. SO, I'll definitely have to check some of this stuff out. Thanx.
