Little Dragon - Blinking Fortune (Kinne Remix)

This "remix combines two Little Dragon songs "Fortune" and "Blinking Pigs" the result is minimalistic a tad dark and an intriguing remix/mash up.

Little Dragon - Blinking Fortune (Kinne Remix) by Kinne

Songs I'm Listening to Now.

Two Door Cinema Club - Something Good Can Work
A tad dated I must admit, it's off Kitsune Maison Compilation 7, but it's just so darn catchy!

Chew Lips - Solo
Chew Lips has to be one of my favorite break out bands from '09 and they just keep getting better.

The Knife - Heartbeats
Ok ok so not new at all and I must admit I rediscovered it from the depths of my music collection, but I haven't stopped listening to it since.

Jose Gonzalez - Heartbeats
Some peolple were really angry when Jose made this cover version...other people claim it's 100,000 times better than the original. I just say enjoy them for what they are.

Mark Ronson feat Q-Tip and MNDR - Bang Bang Bang
Over the last year lots of songs with "bang" in the title have become popular..."Bang Bang" by the Knux, "Bang" by Rye Rye, "Bang" by After School....well this is pretty good too. My friend Raymond introduced me to this song about a month ago and yeah it's quite addictive.

MNDR - I Go Away
Ronson prodigy featured on "Bang Bang Bang" proves she has her own style worth listening to.

Villagers - Ship of Promises
Brooklyn? Nope...Ireland. Listen now it will be big in 6 months.

The Good Natured - Your Body is a Machine (Zebra and Snake remix)

The original song is intense enough (and will be posted below) but this remix off of the prestigious and ultra trendy Kistsune Maison compilation disc (I forget which volume!!!) is a lighter and even dancier version. I am pretty addicted to this version as well as a ton of other tracks off the kitsune maison compilation albums which my friend Shelly intoduced me to over the weekend. Kitsune Maison is a French electronic music label that releases a yearly compliation album of (obviously) electro music, artists featured on these albums have included Beni, MSTRKRFT, Bloc Party, The Drums, friendly Fires, CSS, and a ton of more mainstream and obscure acts. It's quite an enjoyable mixture of catchy dance tunes as well as the experimental, and just plain weird..."I Wish I Was a Polar Bear" anyone? Check it out.

July Playlist

I Blame Coco - Selfmachine
Of all the female newcomers this year, I Blame Coco definitely came in with the most bang. Featuring Robyn on her first release (Caesar) and now taking her electronic tinged sound to new heights on "self machine."

Ramona Falls - Russia
Ok ok so this isn't new at all! Well it isn't new to you if you have been following my blog for a while, however the video for this song is. And I suggest you watch it, because it is very well done. I also must say that this album is superb and completely underrated (you may remember them from my 'best of 2009' posts).

EastStrikeWest - Stumble
This was sent to me by my friend Darien who writes the blog "The New Noise" and I suggest you check this out and then go his blog and preview the album!

MGMT - It's Working (Air Remix)
I find MGMT's last album to be one of the most over-promoted, over-hyped albums of the year, but I really do dig this remix done by the French electro pop artists Air.

Fol Chen - Cable TV
Weird? Check. Awkward music video? Check. but strangely that is the appeal of this song...

Fanfarlo - Harlod T. Wilkins
You may also remember the song "The Walls are Coming Down" from my best of 2009 list, and they were pretty much under the radar last year, but just like Mumford and Sons, Marina and the Diamonds, Ellie Goulding...and a ton of other British bands I profiled last year they are quickly gaining exposure. This song isn't exactly "new" either, but I think it's a good reminder that they are still around.
